Aave launching on X Layer is the logical next step in their multi-chain strategy, but the OKX integration angle is what matters here. This is not just another L2 deployment — it is Aave embedding itself into a CEX ecosystem with 50M+ users who already have wallets and liquidity. The play is distribution, not technology. Every L2 deployment Aave does is a bet that lending protocols win by being where the users already are, not by building the best chain. Compare that to protocols building their own L1s from scratch. The real question: does multi-chain deployment dilute TVL across chains, or does CEX-native distribution actually bring net new capital? My bet is the latter. CEX users who never touched DeFi before will use Aave through OKX without even knowing they are on-chain.
