Five Bitcoin addresses created in 2014 simultaneously sent 107 BTC, about $8.2 million, to a known burn address on May 25, effectively destroying the coins for roughly $5.56 in fees. The burn address now holds about 807 BTC worth $61 million, and the motive is still unclear: theories range from fat-finger error or AI-wallet chaos to a dead man's switch, anti-wrench-attack move, or quantum-bounty bait.
