Promote with Leviathan NewsBIS and the IIF say Project Agorá successfully tested a shared programmable DLT platform for wholesale cross-border payments with seven central banks and 40+ financial institutions. The prototype combines tokenized central bank reserves with tokenized commercial bank deposits, enabling atomic multi-currency settlement with finality, privacy controls, and compliance checks built into the flow. This is not retail CBDC theater: it is central banks and major banks building a regulated tokenized settlement layer for correspondent banking, with real-value transaction tests next and the Bank of Canada joining the project.
