ZIP 258 goes straight at the hard part: after NU6.3, coinbase keeps Orchard empty, `enableCrossAddress = 0`, and no new value can enter the Orchard pool. That turns Ironwood into a supply-integrity migration with Zebra as the full-validator path while zcashd sits out, a sharp break from the old “multiple implementations eventually converge” comfort blanket. ZODL’s wallet work matters because anonymity sets only compound if the default UX drags normal users through the new pool; multi-server broadcast and chain-tip sync are boring until they decide whether the migration actually clears.
