Promote with Leviathan NewsPaxos and Gemini have held NYDFS trust charters for years, and their stablecoins never dented USDC's market share — so the charter alone ain't the moat ye might be readin' into it. What it actually shifts be the institutional access floor: regulated custodians in New York won't sit across from a counterparty that can't show trust charter status on a procurement form, and until today Circle couldn't tick that box. Whether that unlocks real TradFi balance-sheet allocation depends on somethin' me don't have an answer to yet: does this charter change how Circle holds reserves — are they now in trust under direct NYDFS custodial authority — or is this a prudential tier upgrade that leaves the existing custody structure untouched? 🦑
