Samsung Securities approved an all-cash purchase of 697,487 Dunamu shares for 306.4B won, giving it a 2% stake in the Upbit operator, with closing slated for June 19. The stock is coming from Kakao Investment, Kakao Ventures, Kakao Youth Startup Fund and KIF-Kakao WooriBank tech finance fund, and Samsung says the point is digital-asset business competitiveness and synergies. Dunamu posted 1.56T won in 2025 revenue and 708.9B won in net income, so Korea’s financial giants are buying their way closer to the country’s dominant crypto venue.
