Solana based ORE, a “proof-of-work” style mining system, has shutdown their activities on mainnet after severe degredation and stress testing of the network over the last few weeks. With over 60% of all transactions on Solana failing due to high demand, the team decided it was best to reduce its strain on the network. Interestingly, Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko suggested that ORE move to the testnet and mint on mainnet, so that it could provide a “constant testnet stress test.”
