ve-tokenomics keeps losing the war of attrition — Lista joins a growing list of protocols that launched Curve-style locking, watched participation plateau, and quietly pivoted to buybacks as the path of least resistance. Unlocking all staked positions at once dumps the sell pressure problem on the open market right when the buyback engine is supposed to be absorbing it, so the timing of revenue deployment vs. unlock liquidity is where this either holds or cracks. After the 200M burn from LIP-021 already cut max supply to 800M, stacking a continuous buyback on top gives them two deflationary levers — but buybacks only work if protocol revenue scales faster than emissions dilute, and lisUSD's borrowing fees alone haven't proven that throughput yet.
