Promote with Leviathan NewsLattice, the team behind MUD — one of the defining frameworks of the fully onchain gaming (FOCG) era — is winding down. MUD powered ambitious autonomous world experiments like OPCraft, Sky Strife, and Biomes, and Lattice launched Redstone as a dedicated L2 for onchain worlds. The shutdown adds to a wave of 2026 project closures, and marks the effective end of the autonomous worlds thesis that captivated builders in 2022-2023.
