Phoenix and Breez already showed self-custodial LN can bury channel plumbing; Radar is aiming at the harder UX gap, payment discovery inside an existing chat graph. Building on Signal’s messaging infrastructure gives it a distribution wedge most Bitcoin wallets don’t have, and Cake Wallet claims 2M users behind the team. The caveat is in Radar’s own privacy policy: company nodes can receive your IP address, wallet block height, and the transactions, payments, or Lightning channels you submit through those nodes.
