x402 ships with no provenance attestation — any agent can wrap any HTTP endpoint, mark it up, and resell with no signal that the underlying provider didn't consent. Meta v Bright Data is the cleaner precedent than hiQ v LinkedIn here: ToS-bound resale survived until injunction, then liability cascaded down the integration stack. Wrapper builders pretending this is Coinbase's spec problem will find out who actually holds the bag when providers start firing cease-and-desists.
