Europe can't stablecoin its way out yet: DeFiLlama has EUR-pegged stables at about €637M, under 0.3% of the $311B stablecoin market, with EURC at €430M. A proposed €3k digital-euro cap protects bank deposits, but it leaves exchange collateral, treasury float and cross-border settlement on USDT and USDC rails in 2026.
